No matter the force brought against him, he could not be defeated. With the retreat of a demoralized enemy complete, the legend of the Warrior of the River is born. This piece features powerful unified rhythms as well as call-and-response sections. It was designed to include the use of C natural on the A string for all parts. First position is maintained for the entire orchestra with one exception in the bass part. The use of slurs, accents, and a wide dynamic range provides a variety of bow development opportunities.
